Ophelia storm in Northern Ireland

Published on October 16th, 2017

On the 16th of October Ireland expected hurricane Ophelia. Various measures were taken to limit possible damages. It was expected that Northern Ireland should get hard winds as well. For that reason Bettink Service Team switched off all her contracted wind turbines as a preventive measure.

With the high winds that were expected the Bettink Service Team decided to switch off all the 125 contracted wind turbines in Northern Ireland. During the storm we monitored very precisely the turbines.

After the storm our monitoring department switched on all turbines again. A turbines needed to get start up manually. In just two days all turbines were fully operational again.
